Sometimes, when I am tempted by disordered thoughts, it's important to remind myself of what's not possible.

It's not possible to hate yourself into a version of yourself that you will love.

It's not possible to change your genetics and control your appearance.

It's not possible to choose what other people think of you.

It's not possible to choose how people will respond to you.

It's not possible to eliminate negative thoughts.

It's not possible to eliminate negative feelings.

While there are clearly so many aspects of life that are out of my control, and thinking about all these unknowns can be discouraging and depressing, leaving you feeling helpless. It's also important to remember what's possible.

It's possible to choose which thoughts you want to take on as your truth.

It's possible to choose who you invest your time and love in.

It's possible to choose who you surround yourself with.

It's possible to choose what you think about yourself.

It's possible to act differently.

It's possible to choose to love yourself.

Don't be discouraged by what's not possible. Remember what is.
